Item Description
This is a WECO Series 560 ceramic terminal block, a two pole connector with a glazed steatite body and screw terminals. The part is marked 560 and 380 V with its metric wire size. WECO rates the 560 series at 300 V and 20 A for wire from 20 to 12 AWG under UL, and 600 V and 25 A under CSA, with 22.5 mm center to center spacing. Standard types use nickel plated brass terminals and are rated to 240 C, while the 560-K4DF-V2A version uses stainless steel parts and is rated to 500 C.
Ceramic terminal blocks are used where ordinary plastic terminal strips would soften, char or melt. The steatite body holds its shape and insulating properties at high temperature, so these blocks join power leads to heating elements and internal wiring in industrial ovens, kilns, furnaces, heat treating equipment, process heaters, commercial cooking equipment and lighting fixtures. The two riveted terminals are secured against twisting when the screws are tightened.
Electrical maintenance technicians, heating equipment builders and appliance service shops use the 560 series to replace heat damaged connections on existing equipment.
