Item Description
This is a stainless steel braided hose assembly tagged JIC-08 304, with a 90 degree elbow end fitting. Braided metal hose assemblies carry fluids and gases where a rigid pipe cannot absorb movement, vibration, thermal growth or misalignment between two connection points. The stainless braid protects the inner hose and holds pressure, and 304 on the tag identifies the braid alloy.
JIC-08 refers to a 37 degree flare JIC connection in dash size 8. In the SAE J514 dash numbering, a -08 JIC fitting uses a 3/4-16 UNF thread and corresponds to 1/2 inch nominal tube, so the 3/4 inch in the listing reflects the thread size. JIC fittings seal on the flare seat rather than on the threads, and the 90 degree end lets the hose leave a port at a right angle in tight spaces.
