Item Description
This is a Flexline stainless steel braided metal hose assembly with JIC -08 37 degree flare end fittings and a 304 stainless steel braid, as marked on its tag. Flexline builds specialty hose assemblies in corrugated stainless steel, PTFE, silicone and rubber for OEM, aerospace, distribution and industrial users.
A corrugated metal hose carries the fluid through a flexible stainless core, and the outer 304 braid holds the core against pressure elongation and protects it from abrasion. JIC 37 degree flare fittings seal metal to metal on the flare seat, so the assembly connects directly to standard SAE J514 JIC male adapters found on hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel and instrument lines. The -08 dash size uses a 3/4-16 UNF thread.
Braided metal hose is chosen over rubber where temperature, chemical attack, vibration or permeation rule out elastomer hose. Typical uses include pump and compressor connections, steam and hot oil lines, cryogenic and gas service, test stands, and flexible connectors that absorb vibration and misalignment between equipment and rigid piping. Buyers should confirm the pressure rating needed for their system.
