Item Description
This is a Gast Manufacturing K295 service kit for lubricated 2065 series rotary vane compressors and vacuum pumps, such as the Gast 2065-V2A. Gast publishes the K295 as containing vanes, bearings, filters, gaskets and seals, the wear parts needed to return a 2065 unit to original factory performance, and recommends servicing these units every 2 years. The K prefix is the Gast designation for its factory service and repair kits.
In a rotary vane pump, carbon or composite vanes slide in slots in an offset rotor and sweep air through the housing. Over time the vanes wear shorter, bearings loosen and seals and gaskets harden, which lowers vacuum level and flow and raises operating temperature. Replacing the kit parts restores the pump without buying a complete new unit.
Gast 2065 series lubricated pumps are used for vacuum hold down on CNC routers and woodworking machinery, printing and paper handling, packaging, and general industrial vacuum and low pressure air service. The box on this kit is dated 26 AUG 99, and the photos show bearings and gasket material, so buyers should confirm the contents meet their rebuild needs.
