Item Description
The Mersen SPA130 is a 130 mm (5.1 inch) operating shaft for Mersen pistol style disconnect switch handles. Mersen, formerly Ferraz Shawmut, makes fuses, fuse holders, disconnect switches and other electrical protection products for industrial power distribution.
On an externally operated disconnect, the switch body mounts on the back panel of an enclosure while the handle mounts on the enclosure door. The shaft links the two, carrying the rotation of the handle through to the switch mechanism so the operator can open and close the circuit without opening the door. Mersen shaft part numbers give the length in millimeters, so SPA130 is the 130 mm size, with SPA210, SPA290, SPA360 and SPA430 available for deeper enclosures. Mersen's datasheets pair the SPA shafts with its pistol handles, HB and HR styles in 45, 65 and 80 sizes, NEMA 4 and 4X versions, and the HM65X stainless steel handle, on its UL 508 front operated disconnect switches and UL 98 non-fusible disconnect switches.
Panel builders, OEM machine builders and plant electricians order the shaft to match enclosure depth when installing or replacing a door operated disconnect.
