Item Description
The Roots 651120RK is the repair kit without gears for 5 inch Universal RAI (URAI) rotary positive displacement blowers, the 53, 56 and 59 URAI frame sizes, including the URAI-J, URAI-DSL and URAI-J-DSL versions. Roots, now part of Howden, has built two-lobe rotary lobe blowers for more than a century, and the Universal RAI is one of the most widely installed air blower lines in North America.
The kit holds the wear parts replaced during a typical overhaul: a ball bearing and a roller bearing, four Viton main lip seals, a drive shaft lip seal for grease lubricated units and one for DSL (dual splash lube) units, two gearbox gaskets, two ESNA 1 inch-14 hex nuts, four Nyloc hex head cap screws and an opening plug. The timing gears are not included; Roots offers a separate kit with gears when the gears also need replacement.
URAI blowers of this size supply air for wastewater aeration, pneumatic conveying, fluidizing, vacuum trucks and industrial process air, and the 53 URAI is rated to 7 psi pressure or 15 in Hg vacuum. Blower service shops and plant maintenance crews use the 651120RK to rebuild worn bearings and leaking seals.
