Item Description
This is a TB Wood's Sure-Grip QD bushing, E size, with a 3-3/16 inch bore, catalog product number E3316. A QD (quick detachable) bushing is a split, tapered flange bushing that mounts a sheave, sprocket or pulley to a shaft. Tightening the cap screws draws the hub onto the tapered bushing, which closes the split and clamps the bushing onto the shaft.
In the Wood's catalog the E size carries a torque capacity of 20,000 inch-pounds, accepts bores up to 3-1/2 inches and uses three 1/2 inch cap screws on a 5 inch bolt circle. At the 3-3/16 inch bore the E bushing has a shallow 3/4 x 1/8 inch keyseat, and the catalog notes that Wood's supplies the correct rectangular key so the bushing still fits a standard shaft keyway.
