Item Description
Thomson TWN16OPN Super Ball Bushing bearing in a twin pillow block housing: 1.000 inch shaft size, open style, self-aligning and adjustable, for use with 1 inch Class L shafting in continuously supported applications. Overall 6.000 inches wide, 3.250 inches long, 2.000 inches high, with a 1.187 inch shaft centre height. Dynamic load capacity 1,560 lbf, maximum operating temperature +185 F.
Thomson invented the linear ball bushing, and the Super series uses a single ball-conforming groove that carries roughly three times the load of a conventional linear bearing. The twin pillow block puts two bearings in one housing, which doubles the moment capacity and lets a single block carry a load that would otherwise need two separate supports.
The open style is cut away along its length so the block can ride a supported rail, where the shaft is backed by a rail support along its full span. That is what allows long travels without shaft deflection on cutting tables, gantries, packaging machines and custom automation.
