Tritan Corporation 2AV Safety Pressure Relief Valve, 10,000 PSI, 30 GPM, 1/4" Seat

This is a Tritan Corporation model 2AV safety pressure relief valve. The nameplate lists a set pressure of 10,000 PSI, a flow rating of 30 gallons per minute and a 1/4 inch seat. The plate carries the maker's Houston post office box address.

A relief valve of this kind protects a high pressure pumping system. When discharge pressure reaches the set point, the valve opens and passes flow so that pressure cannot climb past the rated limit and damage the pump, hose, piping or the equipment under test.
