Item Description
This is a Victaulic replacement gasket for 8 in (DN200) Vic-Flange adapters, molded with the marking 8" / 219,1MM GASKET STYLE 741 and STYLE 743, 744. The 219.1 mm figure is the outside diameter of 8 in steel pipe, 8.625 in.
A Vic-Flange adapter joins grooved end pipe to a flanged valve, pump, strainer or piping component. The adapter housing engages the pipe groove on one side and bolts to the mating flange on the other, and this gasket forms the seal between the pipe end, the adapter and the flange face. Victaulic rates the Style 741 adapter from full vacuum to 300 psi and the heavier Style 743 to 720 psi. Victaulic offers these gaskets in Grade E EPDM, color coded with a green stripe, for hot and cold water and many dilute chemical services, and Grade T Nitrile, with an orange stripe, for oil related services, so buyers should confirm the grade needed for their service.
Fire protection contractors, mechanical contractors and facility maintenance crews keep these gaskets on hand for fire sprinkler, HVAC chilled and condenser water, and plant water systems when a flange connection is opened for service.
