Buehler UniClip 20-5100-100 Plastic Specimen Support Clips, 100 Clips

In metallographic sample preparation, a small or thin specimen such as a sheet section, wire, fastener or coating sample must be held upright or at a set angle while it is embedded in a mount. The UniClip grips the specimen and stands it in the mounting mold so the area of interest faces the surface that will be ground and polished. Buehler states that UniClips are suitable for both compression (hot) mounting and castable (cold) mounting systems, and advises orienting the legs upward when used in compression mounting. The clear version shown here is one of two colors Buehler offers, alongside black.
