Item Description
This is a Baldor Reliance CDP3320 permanent magnet DC motor, spec number 33-2024Z102, type 3327P, built by Baldor Electric Co. in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The nameplate rates it at .33 HP (1/3 HP), 1750 rpm, 90 volts DC armature and 3.2 amps, in a 56C frame with a totally enclosed non ventilated (TENV) enclosure, Class F insulation and continuous duty.
Permanent magnet DC motors deliver high starting torque and smooth, adjustable speed when run from an SCR or PWM DC drive, so they are used on conveyors, pumps, mixers, packaging machines, feeders and other equipment where the operator needs to vary speed. The 90 VDC armature rating matches the output of common single phase SCR drives supplied from 115 VAC line power; the motor cannot be connected straight to AC power.
The 56C frame is the NEMA C face standard, so the motor bolts directly to C face gear reducers, pumps and couplings, and the CDP catalog number identifies a general purpose DC motor with a C face and a base. Maintenance technicians and OEM equipment builders use the CDP3320 as a direct replacement.
