Item Description
The JM Performance Products JM31114BHT is a CAT40 retention knob, also called a pull stud, with a 5/8-11 UNC thread and a 90 degree head angle. A retention knob threads into the back of a V-flange toolholder, and the machine spindle drawbar grips the knob to pull the holder firmly into the spindle taper.
The HT suffix marks JM's patented High Torque design (US Patent 8,998,545). High Torque knobs engage the lowest threads in the toolholder and relieve the area beneath the pilot, which JM states reduces toolholder distortion, chatter and tool wear. The label marks it for the ANSI modified / JMTBA 40 taper profile used on many CNC machining centers.
