Item Description
*** We have two of these units, this one (shown in the picture above) is a 1987 with a DETROIT and the other (shown in the picture below) is a 1991 with a CUMMINS 6B. First come first choice! We have a shipping department that can arange shipping world wide. FYI: Our Yard Trailers are not included in this offer If your interested in having a safe and secure DIY personal yacht for your friends and family that you can put your own personal touch on you will have a difficult time finding anything close to the mechanical and structural integrity and unsinkable value of a Captain's Gig. We buy and sell Captain's and have sold dozens and dozens over the years and we have never had one with all these features. If you know Captain's Gig's you might not know: Of all Captain's Gigs WILLARD is the best manufacture Of those the WILLARD DOUBLE CABIN 33 (WDC33) is the best of all. The one most prized is the one with the head! This boat has it. Of those the most valuable are: Low engine hours 24.02 hrs The original ship's dolly / yard trailer. (optional) That is a lot of top rated features, but if you don't know what's a captain's Gig is you might not begun to appreciate or understand the opportunity here. FYI: Captain's Gigs "were" the personal taxi of the Admiral's, Captain or high ranking officer on Naval vessels. Under a directive issued by Naval Air Forces, all 11 carriers were required to turn in their captain’s gigs before June 30, 2009. “Removal of the captain’s gig was done to reduce maintenance costs and free up valuable hangar bay space required by the boats. See article: http://www.navytimes.com/news/2008/02/navy_captgigs_080210w/ The temporary windfall for buyers like ourselves is the ability to own a perfectly good Captain's / Officers transport that was removed due to US Naval Forces directive and not age or mechanical reasons. But this edict was in 2008 and all Captain's Gigs were removed by June 2009. This is one of the last of it's kind, we might not see this opportunity again. Answer to many questions: The boat does run and is sea worthy, it will require new batteries, oil & filters. Personally, I would flush fuel tanks We do not finance Would consider trades: email photos and info on your trade to rkingatkingsurplusdotcom The boat could be used as is but would probably be a wise investment to paint the bottom and possibly the top The boat is in a secure storage yard and can not be inspected until the 19th or anytime in Texas after the 19th. However we will guaranty our description and photos with a 14 day money back guaranty. The boat can not be splashed and driven away from it's current location. It would need to be hauled to a marina and put in the water. What would it need to drive the boat away? New batteries, change oil and filters, other items such as but not limited to compass, life jackets and other safety equipment required by coast guard, VHF radio and make ready as would be required with any vessel that sat for a while. The boat does not have a bimini top Yard trailer is not DOT LEGAL, it's sole purpose is to move the boat around the ship and yard Crane Load out fee is $700 which will be in addition to the purchase price This boat is currently located in San Diego and will be moved to Texas 2/19/13 at which time the price will increase due to shipping Delivery is available anywhere in the world. Inland shipping is approximately $5 per mile + permits & escort if needed.
