Item Description
This adjustable expansion reamer measures 1.223 inch across the flutes by caliper, a nominal 1-1/4 inch size, on an 11 inch overall length. A set screw expands the cutting body slightly so the tool can be dialed to a precise final diameter, and a threaded pilot at the end keeps it running true in the bore.
An expansion reamer takes a light finishing cut that brings a drilled or bored hole to an exact diameter with a smooth wall. The long body suits deep holes and large machine-shop and tool-room work where a fixed reamer cannot be adjusted to size.
