A piloted drill reamer with a .278 inch (7.06 mm) cutting diameter and an integral .270 inch (6.86 mm) pilot tip that guides the tool true as it sizes an already-drilled hole. It runs about 6 inches long with a spiral flute, made of high-speed steel (HSS).

The pilot enters the hole ahead of the cutting edges and keeps the reamer concentric, so the finished bore holds size and stays straight. The spiral flute clears chips smoothly on the cut, which suits deeper holes and combination drill-and-ream work common in aircraft and structural tooling. Use it in machine-shop hole finishing, production reaming, and MRO sizing where a precise diameter and a smooth bore are required.

This is a single used tool. Sold as-is, surplus from King Surplus inventory in Del Rio, Texas. Same-day shipping on orders before 3:00 PM CT.

  • Manufacturer: none. The tool carries no manufacturer name, model or serial, on the tool or on its packaging.
  • Type: Piloted drill reamer, spiral flute, as shown in the photographs
  • Shank marking, as photographed: 62_30, partially worn. The exact characters are uncertain and this pass does not resolve them.
  • Cutting Diameter: .278 in (7.06 mm), from the shank stamp recorded in this record's Model field (FID 57). The diameter stamp is not legible in the photographs on this record.
  • Pilot Diameter: .270 in (6.86 mm) - OUR caliper measurement, per FID 57. This is not a factory marking.
  • Overall Length: approximately 6 in - OUR measurement. This is not a factory marking.
  • Material: not established. The title and the previous entry state HSS, but no material marking appears on the tool and no maker's catalogue applies, because the tool is unbranded. High-speed steel is the usual material for a tool of this form, but that is an expectation and not a specification, so HSS is not asserted here.
  • Flute count, helix angle, shank type and tolerance class are not marked on the tool and are not stated here.

Spec Basis: Verified 2026-09-16 against this tool's own photographs (KSC record 8470), cross-checked against Manufacturer (FID 56, "Generic") and Model (FID 57). The photographs confirm an unmarked piloted spiral-flute reamer and show no manufacturer, model or serial anywhere. The prior entry stated "Material: HSS" as a flat specification with nothing supporting it; that claim is now qualified. Its diameter and length figures are retained but are now labelled by source - one shank stamp, two measurements we took ourselves - rather than presented as published factory data.
