Mueller Comercial 511-205LR 1" Galvanized Malleable Iron Pipe Coupling

This is a 1 inch galvanized malleable iron pipe coupling in the B&K Mueller 511 series, the Mueller Industries line of threaded galvanized fittings sold through plumbing wholesalers and hardware retailers. A straight coupling joins two lengths of threaded pipe of the same size in a straight run, with female pipe threads at both ends.

Galvanized malleable iron fittings are used in water service, compressed air, fuel gas and general utility piping, as well as in structural and decorative pipe work such as railings and shelving frames. The zinc coating resists corrosion, and the malleable iron body tolerates the torque of threaded assembly without cracking.

In the Mueller numbering, 511 identifies the galvanized malleable fitting family and the 205 portion identifies a 1 inch coupling. Class 150 malleable fittings are made to ASTM A197 for material and ASME B16.3 for dimensions, so this coupling mates with any standard 1 inch NPT threaded pipe or fitting. Thread sealant or PTFE tape is normally used on assembly.
