Mueller Comercial 511-953L Galvanized Malleable Iron Hex Reducing Bushing 1" Male x 1/2" Female NPT

This is a B&K (Mueller Industries family) 511 series galvanized malleable iron hex bushing that reduces a 1 inch female pipe opening down to a 1/2 inch female thread. The 1 inch male NPT end threads into a fitting, valve or tapped port, and the 1/2 inch female NPT end accepts smaller pipe or a nipple, making it a compact alternative to a coupling and nipple combination.

In the B&K numbering, the 511 prefix identifies the galvanized malleable iron line and 953 identifies the 1 in x 1/2 in size; retail packaging for the same fitting carries the suffix HN. The fitting is a 150 lb class malleable part made to ASME B16.3 dimensions with NPT threads to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1, and distributors list it at 300 psi from -20 to 150 deg F.

Plumbers, pipefitters and maintenance crews use galvanized bushings on water, compressed air and low pressure steam lines, in equipment hookups, and anywhere a threaded port needs to be stepped down to a smaller line size.
