Item Description
The GenScope HI0.6-100-F55 is a MicroFlex series flexible borescope, a micro-diameter fiber optic inspection scope made by GenScope, Inc. of East Longmeadow, Massachusetts. Borescopes let an inspector see inside a bore, channel or cavity that cannot be reached by eye, without taking the assembly apart.
The MicroFlex line uses a fused quartz fiber optic image bundle, which GenScope specifies for a bright, clear image and for durability through repeated bending. The small diameter and flexible construction let the probe follow narrow, curved passages. The series is built in diameters from 0.5 mm to 4.0 mm, in forward view or right angle configurations, and this unit carries a stainless steel sheath for added ruggedness. An interchangeable focusing eyepiece allows direct viewing or connection to a video documentation system or USB camera.
GenScope lists applications including turbine blades, fuel systems, hydraulics, injector nozzles, compressors, medical devices and tubing. Aerospace MRO shops, precision machining, quality control labs and medical device manufacturers use scopes of this type for visual inspection of internal features, burrs and contamination.
