Item Description
The Humphrey 590AE1-3-11 is a 3-way solenoid air pilot valve from the 590 series built by Humphrey Products of Kalamazoo, Michigan. The 590 series are 3/4 pipe size valves using Humphrey's diaphragm poppet design, which has no sliding spool seals, so the valve shifts reliably and seals tightly in dirty or poorly lubricated air.
In this version a 24 VDC coil drawing 6.7 watts operates an internal pilot that shifts the main diaphragm poppet, letting a PLC or low voltage control circuit switch a large volume of compressed air. The nameplate rates it for 0-125 psi general purpose service with continuous duty coil operation. The 590 series main valve has a 0.490 inch orifice and passes about 250 SCFM at 100 psig.
Valves of this type are used to operate air cylinders, blow-off circuits, air motors, and pneumatic clamps on packaging, assembly and process machinery. It suits maintenance crews replacing a matching Humphrey 590 series valve on existing equipment.
