Item Description
A carbide-tipped shell reamer that finishes a large-diameter hole to 1.0781 inch (27.38 mm) with a smooth, accurate bore. It measures 6-1/2 inches overall and is marked National Carbide Tool, part number 375C999-063C. A shell reamer is the cutting head only: it mounts on a separate arbor, which keeps the large-diameter tool economical and lets one arbor carry several sizes.
The carbide-tipped edges hold up in harder and more abrasive materials than plain high-speed steel, taking a light finishing cut to bring a drilled or bored hole to final size. It suits production reaming and tool-room sizing of larger bores where a precise diameter and long edge life are needed.
