Item Description
HSS-Co cobalt drill reamer cutting .204 inch on a threaded shank, configured for Taper-Lok aerospace fastener tooling. The cobalt grade runs hotter and holds its edge longer than plain high-speed steel, which suits the tougher aluminum and titanium alloys used in airframe structure.
Taper-Lok is an aerospace interference-fit fastener system, and a reamer like this one cuts the precise hole those fasteners seat into during structural aircraft assembly. As a combination tool it drills and brings the hole to its exact final diameter in a single pass, leaving a smooth bore sized to the fastener. The threaded shank drives from a power feed drill motor for repeatable production reaming on the line.
