ITEM DESCRIPTION

Tractor needs new wiring for the starter. It cranks right up and runs smoothly. Our mechanic checked this unit out and there is a small oil leak on the side of the tractor but this tractor has power steering, in this model that feature was not available in all units. The tractor comes with the attachment shown in the photographs. It can be driven on a trailer and loaded with ease. The paint is faded and tires are in good shape. This tractor is a must see. It is a timeless classic! We have videos of it running and moving, we are happy to send them! We are selling the unit as it is shown in the video and as we have described it.

Factory Information

The 1962 Ford 801 tractor is a classic agricultural vehicle that was known for its power and durability. Produced from 1957 to 1962, the 801 model was part of the “Powermaster” series, which featured a new front grill with cross-section bars and a more powerful engine than its predecessor, the 601 model.

Three engines were available for the 801: a 2.8-liter diesel engine, a 2.8-liter gasoline engine, and a 2.8-liter Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) engine. All three engines had a bore and stroke of 3.90 by 3.60 inches, but had different compression ratios and power outputs. The gasoline engine had a compression ratio of 7.5:1 and produced 63.7 horsepower, while the LG engine had a compression ratio of 8.65:1 and also produced 63.7 horsepower. The diesel engine had the highest compression ratio of 16.8:1 and also produced 63.7 horsepower.

The 801 had a wheelbase of 70 inches, an overall length of 115 inches, and an overall width of 64.75 inches. It came standard with a 19-inch front tire and a 28-inch rear tire, with an optional 16-inch front tire available. The tractor’s Power Takeoff (PTO) was capable of transferring up to 48.4 horsepower, while the rated PTO was 44 horsepower. The maximum drawbar was rated at 41.5 horsepower.
