Item Description
This is a Flexline braided stainless steel metal hose assembly marked 316, listed at 3/4 inch by 33 inches with a 90 degree elbow on one end. Flexline manufactures stainless steel metal hose, PTFE hose and specialty hose assemblies in a wide range of diameters.
A braided metal hose has a thin wall corrugated inner tube that gives flexibility, covered by a woven wire braid that carries the pressure load and keeps the hose from stretching. In Flexline's 316 series the corrugated hose is 316 stainless steel with a 304 stainless braid. Metal hose handles higher temperatures and many chemicals that would attack rubber hose, and it is used to absorb vibration, thermal growth and misalignment between piping and equipment.
Typical users include pipefitters, maintenance crews and equipment builders working on steam and condensate lines, hot oil and lube lines, chemical transfer, compressor and pump connections. The 90 degree elbow lets the assembly turn tightly at a connection without bending the hose below its minimum radius. Buyers should confirm end fitting type and thread before installation.
