Type 5012 is a single range amplifier that accepts a charge signal from a high impedance pressure or force transducer and converts it into a voltage. The design of the 5012 is specifically tailored for use with charge type sensors for measuring cavity pressure on injection molding machines. The unit has two output voltage levels, ±10V for connection to recorders and other instruments accepting 10V signals and ±20 mV for connection to the input of controllers that require a 20 mV signal level. Sensitivity (range) is factory adjusted for with a specified sensor.
This instrument offers a measurement range of 100 to 105 pC with a frequency response of approximately 0 to 40 kHz and an excellent non-linearity of 0.1%. It features a time constant between 1,000 and 100,000 seconds, a maximum noise level of 200 µVrms, and drift rates of 0.25 pC/s at 25°C (77°F) and 2 pC/s at 50°C (122°F). The output provides ±10 V and ±20 mV signals with an impedance of 100 ?, using a KPT 02E-8-4P connector for output and a BNC negative connector for input. Pin allocation includes A for Low F.S (±20 mV), B for High F.S (±10 V), C for Common, and D for Operate/Reset. Power requirements are 115/230 V, 50–400 Hz, with a consumption of 1.5 VA. The unit weighs 1.25 lb and comes in a durable cast aluminum case.
