Some Amazon sellers and surplus dealers are advertising MREs with "2025," "2026," or even "2027" inspection dates. Here is what they are not telling you: those dates are calculated using 18-month "Inspection Extensions" applied to cases originally inspected in 2023, 2024, or early 2025.

This is not the same as a true inspection date stamped at the factory.

What you are actually buying from them:

• Cases inspected 2-3 years ago
• Extended shelf life based on paperwork, not product testing
• Older production runs repackaged with misleading date claims
